University Fernando Pessoa (UFP) has just become an associate partner of the ECO Project (Elearning Communication Open-Data).

The participation of UPF, through the e-learning department, UFP-UV, consists in providing sMOOC in several areas.

In this initial phase, three free online courses will be launched in Portuguese: Citizenship, Democracy and Justice ; Drugs and Delinquency – between the criminal and the victim and Business English (Intermediate) – Traveling.

The ECO Project, funded by the European Union, has 23 founding members and intends “to raise awareness in Europe about the benefits of open educational resources”. With this membership, UFP participates in an educational project that is to be increasingly extended, not only to a European context but a global context.
